Ingredients
Cake Ingredients
- 4 egg yolks
- 75g sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 150g all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
Meringue Ingredients
- 4 egg whites
- 1/2 tsp vinegar or cream of tartar
- 75 cup granulated sugar
Instructions
Make the Meringue (stand mixer)
- Froth egg; whip 3, 1m
- Add vinegar; whip 1m
- Add sugar in third; whip 10, 3m
Mix the egg yolks
- Hand mix in large bowl
- Add egg yolks and sugar; whisk
- Add the oil and vanilla; whisk
- Add the water; whisk
- Sift flour, salt, and baking powder
- Add powders; whisk until smooth
- Add the meringue in third; fold until homogeneous
Bake (instant pot air fryer)
- Place 6in pan on trivet
- Cover with slit foil
- Bake at 350F for 12m
Bake (oven)
- Bake at 350F on middle for 10-15m, covered with slit foil
